Nishita Karikatti is a dedicated leader, advocate, and scholar passionate about service, education, and community impact. A recipient of the Gold Presidential Volunteer Service Award and National Honor Society Service Pillar Award, she has completed over 500 hours of volunteer work.

As Vice President of the Metropolitan Education Commission Youth Advisory Council, she represents over 30,000 students, advocating for youth mental health and education equity. She also serves as the American Red Cross Ambassador for Arizona and New Mexico, leading 50+ school chapters and statewide relief initiatives.

A third-degree black belt in Taekwondo and a national competitor, Nishita mentors over 50 young students. She coaches her school’s top-ranked Model UN team and volunteers in healthcare, rural outreach, and cultural programs.

In STEM, Nishita is a state science fair champion and ISEF qualifier. This fall, she will join the University of Arizona’s highly selective BS/MD APME Program to continue her path toward medicine and health equity.
